 I've just joined this website. Be nice to speak to people who are going through similar experiences to me and my 5 year old. He was diagnosed with Autism last June. He is on the lower scale of the spectrum, is main issues are communication and social. 

He had recently starting smacking people, including me family members and his friends at school when he doesn't know how to deal with his emotions, does anyone else have this issue?

  • According to his teacher the children aren't smacking him. when asked why he's smacking he says he doesn't know and he can't remember doing it?? Apart from one occasion when a little boy was staring at him, I don't think he knew how to tell him to stop or ask why he was staring so he smacked him, that was his way of saying 'stop it', albeit not the right way...
