I've just been on the DUP website and none of there policies seemed and of the above. 'Without wanting to cause offence to any religions' but ban on abortion would be a 'on average' more catholic view? DUP seemed to be in faviour of the UK.
One policy i did see that was worrying was. We would seek to:
Which to me suggests a typical lack of knowlage and ignorance of MP's.
I think one of the troubles with the left this time was mud slinging throughout the election campaign. All promises and no real policies on how debt will be repaid and how these can be delivered, not all can be delivered.
Conservitives over the last 5 years have increased employment, invested more in housing and infastructure than the all12 Blair/brown years in my opinion.
I've not seen so many road improvements in my life, one woman on the Tv said the reason she voted Conservetive was because her husband was a builder and for the last 5 years he's never been out of work. Can't argue with that.
One thing that i think should be looked at is the aid budget, 12bn per year, which is fine but when 2 Big Aircraft carriers are being build 'keeping highly skilled Engineers in work' in which the cost of running these is under scruteny.
These Carriers when built the mass majoraty of the work done by these 'i bet atleast 90%' will be support of natural disasters and humaniterian aid and anti drug trafficing. So if the cost is so hard for the country to bear the prehaps some of the buget should be used to help run these. www.bbc.co.uk/.../world-europe-32626560
In my opinion nothing will do more to demonstraight the charity and good will of this country than one of these Carriers showing up with trained militery personnel helping with medical care, search and rescue and specialist equipment and the capability to support, feed and shelter a large amount of people in any need in any part of the world.
That in my opinion is the best anti terror policy. These carriers and i alot of cases the militery is inline for the chop for most leftwingists, theres so much more to these than war capibilities. And Solideirs men and women alike are and always have been amung the worst paid of the public sector and yet never complain.
I know benefits are being affected for alot, me included but it does need to be looked at. under Labour there was alot of people that were ok trying to get out of working, atleast where i live, poeple on benefits driving 50g cars around and selling drugs. It definatly needs looking at and the proceedes of crime act needs to be further used.
I know Politics can be a can worms but everybodies opinions are different and i'd like to hear them.
Excuse bad spelling at times all the best Steven..
The election results are depressing but predictable. The anti-Tory vote is very split now, with lots of people voting Green who would have voted Labour.
Hate the Tories with a vengeance, everything they stand for. Targeting the poor and vulnerable while lining their pockets. Have never and would never vote for them.
The only consolation is that a Tory majority means they won't be in coalition with the DUP, who are raving loonies of the highest order (wanting creationism in schools, the death penalty, ban on abortion, etc etc)
