Does anyone have any experiences of Action For Aspergers in Barnwell please?

I've just started looking at private outlets for support and counselling for our primary-aged son.  This charity comes up in the NAS search as our nearest local service.  The website (obviously) makes the place sound very inviting and just what we might be needing but I'm very wary of using a private company.

So, does anyone here have personal experience of the place/therapists please?  Any and all feedback will be gratefully recieved.

Thanks.

  • It's a wonderful place! They support the whole family. I had counselling through them. I need far less now thannks to their help, however I know I can still access their support if required. They have just moved to a premesis which they have set up as the UK's first Autism-specialist counselling centre. It's in Corby, Northants. It's a fabulous place with all counselling rooms doubling up as sensory therapy spaces to aid with the counselling. The counsellors are specialist in terms of having not just counselling qualifications but familial experience of Autism/Asperger's Syndrome. They know what it's like to live with which means you get a level of understanding that I hadn't found in any of the counselling I'd had prviously through the NHS. I would highly recommend!
