Please can the moderators sort things out with Mollom.

A number of times I've been unable to send a posting with a web site. Mollom says I haven't done it correctly, though it shouldn't have gone wrong.

They say try again with the new set of characters, except the new set of characters does not show. So you have to report it as a block. But reporting it as a block closes the website. So having logged on and not logged off, I have to go back on the find I'm still logged in.

Mollom is an utter shambles.

  • Apart from anything else, if you report the blockage Mollom says they will report back to you with an explanation. They never do.

    OK I seem to scare off a lot of posters so cannot criticise Mollom for this, but nevertheless I do think Mollom may frustrate many new posters and therefore undermine the accessibility of the site,. This needs addressing.

    I think you get a submit button but no verification code when it fails. Hit the submit button again and it then gives you another error message but it provides a code which you can enter and submit. Patience and persistence is needed but it does work eventually.

  • Normally yes, but I'm not getting the option to try again. It doesn't give me another set of characters to transcribe.

    One possibility is that it is stopping anything that looks like advertising, and in the latest instance I had raised attention to the blue assist cards, and then tried to post the website.

    Community rule 5 says we can make people aware of a service as long as we are not advertising, but possibly Mollom cannot make that distinction.

    If they could just be a bit more helpful.......

    seconded, I thought it was me or the content I was posting or something. If you keep hitting submit and keep typing the characters when they appear you can get through eventually but it can take several attempts
