Focus objects

I currently work with a young man who has an ASD and loves playing with focus objects (sorting pasta, ripping cloths, sorting cards and playing with straws.)

I am looking for some ideas for new objects as he is beginning to tire of these easly now and we are switching them daily.

Kind Regards,

Chris

  • Velcro, stickle bricks, pin art, lava lamps (if you search for them on Amazon there's some interesting variations on that theme)

He could sort toys and books (by size and colour if he can't read), but I guess he might get upset if others then move them!  Sort and squash recycling.

On a longer scale, how about trying growing some plants? Coleus are easy and quick to grow from seed, and I remember being facinated as a child as the different colours developed!

Herbs can be enjoyed for scent and taste: bought or grown.

Think I might be going off topic a bit but I'm having fun thinking about this stuff...
