How I'm feeling

Hi everyone. I am Leo and I am an 18 year old Aspie. Recently I have been suffering from extreme depression, and have been on several different types of medication. None of which have worked fully. I have been experiencing obsessive compulsive tendencies in regard to choosing which books I want to take with me when I go out or even if I'm just going downstairs from my room. I have also been experiencing anxiety, both social and in general. So much so that I have completely isolated myself from people. This is not a problem for me, as I feel I work more productively and more happily when I am alone. I live with my mother, father and sister, and these are the only people I am in contact with. I am in state education, but I simply remove myself from any situation that would involve interacting with other people.

I am glad to be able to find a place where I can say these things without fear of prejudice or judgement.

  • Hi Elbow, have you tried running or walking to lift your mood, it can be more effective than drugs. It helps me.

Also,if you want more social contact in the future, you could try a sport at a club. It can be an individual sport but doing it with other people gives you something to talk about and reduces the amount of time you spend in conversation because you are doing an activity.
