Can sensitivity to fireworks develop as a child gets older

For the last few years we have had domestic fireworks in our back garden. They are mostly low sound and two medium sound, our neighbour has children. who are sensitive to noise the same as my Son is.  She complained the fireworks dysregulated her child this year  she’s never complained in previous years.  I don’t know whether this complaint is genuine or not?

    While I cannot comment on the situation here, it is certainly true that many autistic people can find fireworks and activity related to such a difficult set of circumstances to be around.

    I'd like to share a resource that discusses autism and bonfire night - I wonder if this may be useful to share with your neighbour.
