Your oddities and strangeities

What odd/strange/unusual things do you do?

One of mine is demonstrated in the title ie I make up words.

This thread came to mind because I've been doing some photography and I just put a doll in a box with a scarf but I ensured that the scarf wasn't over her face so she could breath.

In fact, when I placed the scarf originally near her nose I felt I couldn't breath.

This may be anthropomorphism although with the addition that I feel what the object feels (or doesn't).

    • When I see someone's birth and death dates, online, in cemeteries or books, I work out how old they were when they died.
    • I don't like buying fish with the head on and have to cover the eyes. I can't eat whitebait these days, though I enjoy the taste.
    • I apologise to plants before pruning, especially if they're shrubs or I've had them a long time
    • I say, 'rest in peace' when I find dead insects or wildlife, before burying them.
    • I have to tidy the house before going to bed - in case I die in the night and people think I was a scruffy person.

so do I. I once had a work role of training graduates how to interpret data available to them for the purposes of a financial investigation. I took some real data on an extended family living in the same house and running a business from it. I changed all the names into Hobbit names and made their business a pub that features in the Lord of the Rings. I got them to look at the names and dates of birth and marriage to work out the relationships between the partners and their dependents. It was great fun.
