When did films become movies?
It always has been?
Has always been in my life too (Canadian mother) but I am bilingual with movie/film and even open to 'fillum' owing to North Eastern relatives...
I got caught out by an American puzzle that used 'silent films' where I would have expected the US term to be 'silent movies'. So I guess films were known as films at some point in the past in the US.
