The Matrix, the 3 Lord of The Rings films and Phantom of The Opera are my favourites that get watched every year.

All offer excellent escapism.

Honestly Phantom of the Opera seems to get way more flak than it deserves. I personally distaste all Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals, but I feel like Schumacher’s dark vision for the story was excellent. Also helps that I enjoy Gerard Butler and I had a childhood crush on Emma Rossum lol

I've watched these umpteen times. There's just so much detail not only the script but costumes, sets, props. I also liked the Matrix, if only to look at Keanu Reeves.
