Hoorah for the hurri-Kane - won the Ballon dOr!

Marianne72

Great for England - Harry's done it and won the Ballon d'Or! I could watch his goals for hours. Such a joy, such skill. Watch this compilation and if it doesn't make your heart sing you must be a zombie. And here are more of his moves.

Ballon - or 'balloon' -  referring to the shape of a football. Footballers have to be very skilled to get this award, proven over a whole season - which Harry Kane has achieved if you look at the videos.

Nearly every sport or craft has some sort of award for excellence. I think it is far better than constantly reading negative news. 'Award' winners are selected on merit - nothing to do with that individual vying for acclaim. Harry is recognised as a particularly modest man.

Yeha but I feel the same about all public award shows for public figures

I wouldnr respect Taylor Swift anyless without her awards and personally I find her SNL appeance as host more impressive

And this is coming from somewho who respects her musical talent and the fact she can't read sheet music proves a point I've been making to musicans and aspiring musicians for many years being able to compose and play is what matters and composition is not notes on a page it's melodies and chords in your head
