Help need with ocd to make family dynamics better

So i will start by saying I didn't know where to place this and I know we can't ask for medical advice but just some experiance and personal anecdotes might provide hope

So long story short really a neighbour who created tramua for my whole family has basicly cuase our son to have ocd which includes things like refusing to go to or let anyone use certain shops with no real logical reason and this has extended to only eating fast food or. Food that can be stored in the bag in came in

This and other issues rom the neighbour lead to wm. And the mother breaking up and I briefly had an on off relationship with someone else but after sometime on my own we do want to start a fresh(me and the mum of my child)

But the way things are including be living the fridge is dirty just because it's not a new fridge (I know how to ptofessionaly clean and test white goods for 100% hygiene) and at this rate we won't be able to have Christmas dinner

Other issue Mabie linker to Truma and his audhd include what I can only describe as right wing toxic views not based on any facts about world leaders and other things

Like I say any stories with a positive outcome are welcomed

The mother is currently still helplessly enabling bjt for me. Having to lie seems pointless and obly leads to me isolating and having all sorts of issue related to my own  audhd

  • OCD is a hard one, but not impossible to manage. One of the things i know that helps is explaining what OCD is and that is its a completely natural safety mechanism your body does, except its gone into overdrive. It can be common in neurodivergent people because the brain feels like it needs to protect something (itself, friends, family, etc) from what it perceives as danger and its very good at noticing patterns, such as something might have germs therefore might infect me. With the fridge it could be that item has come from the outside world and is now sitting in my fridge and therefore its a danger. It is easier to deal with if you can get a psychiatrist to work with them and figure out the triggers because then you can start breaking the cycles. Sometimes when the anxious feelings start to appear its good to recognise that and try some breathing exercises in its place, or to recite some sayings such as your brain is just trying to protect you and that its not neccessarily correct, but what you recite entirely depends on the person because the same thing wont work for everyone.

I would suggest getting professional help with it so they have the mental tools to help them later in life when they encounter similar situations. I hope this paragraph helps, even the smallest bit
