Has anyone ever heard of this? It stands for Willing Workers on Organic Farms and is a voluntary placement system to put farmers and growers in touch with people who would like to learn about agriculture, horticulture and rural life in general.
It was a godsend to me in my life, took me out of the city and gave me peace, self confidence and a start in what could loosely be called a career. And it's still going.
I also reckon I met quite a few struggling people while travelling who were also gaining benefit from the scheme.
