Any Land Rover Fans Out There?

Hello,

I was wondering if there are any other fellow autistic Land Rover fans out there? There are many clubs but I find them a little overwhelming at times hence my question. It would be nice if there are other fans to be able to chat Landy's or even organize meet ups possibly?

I own a 1976 Series Three 88 Hardtop and love her to bits. I rescued her from a local field sixteen years ago and have done a lot of work including having the engine and gearbox re-built. I used to own a 1957 series One 88 and deeply regret selling. Dread to think what it would be worth now. I went on to own a 1986 Range Rover as fell in love with them as a child and so had to get it out of my system. To nice for me so was glad when I spotted Lucy in the field and we got together. Just been out to check the fluid levels and clean around the gearbox to see where the leaks are coming from, not the output seals so they are ok. If it did not leak then I would be worried!

Anyway, if you are a fan then it would great to chat, thank you.

  • Hi, I’m still restoring a customers 1965  Series 2 88, it’s an ex military so has quite a few different parts to a standard Landy. The new galvanised chassis now has the axles, steering and engine in it, I’m now repairing the bulkhead ready to mount onto the new footwells. I have started fitting the new wiring harness, it’s now threaded through the length of the chassis.

When completed I’m going to sell the workshop and semi-retire to Cornwall, I now live there but have a round trip of 500 miles every few weeks to finish car projects at the workshop.
My personal retirement project at my new home is my late fathers 1994 Range Rover Classic Vogue SE soft dash. It’s got into a poor state and needs a lot of welding, I have now found a company who can supply a complete assembled front end that’s already jigged up. It’s supplied from the windscreen onwards and an exact copy, it  passes my requirements of perfection. I do love the sound of its V8!

I’m hoping to patch it up for now so it can make the journey to Cornwall.

I won’t miss replacing rear crossmembers on old Landys.
