Particles may share same properties despite large distance... People sometimes - too. For people its just a coincidence. For Particles - quantum entaglement.

I enjoyed listening to Brian Cox talking about this phenomenon and some idea came to my mind. So this is next comics.

  • Wow, your science knowledge is amazing. I love how you include romance with it and how real the characters seem. I'm afraid the science is still beyond me as my ageing brain can't take in new things very easily. I try to understand your episodes because I enjoy reading them. Perhaps if I keep trying, it will become clearer! Are you saying particles act like 2 people with extreme empathy [like twins or lovers] - that though they are separate and not physically linked, they reflect each other? That there is some kind of force as yet unknown that enables the smallest particles to link? A bit like trees in a forest sharing nutrients?

    Its not empathy in this case. Once I wrote a sci fi story about aliens being able to communicate telepathically- when a thought appeared in one mind, it appeared in other mind at the exactly same moment, even if those two minds were on other sides of the galaxy. So this is how it works for the particles. The electric charge of one changes- the entangled twin gets the exact same property at the exactly same time,  no additional communication needed. In our macro reality it's just a coincidence. Michelle went for some shopping and stepped on a stone. It resulted in spraining her ankle. Owl went to pick his car from the mechanic and at the exact same moment as Michelle- stepped on a stone and sprained his ankle. There was no communication between them, it just happened simultaneously. In macro world it's a coincidence, because objects interact only with their close environment. As wrote in the comics- the mirror reflects the ball only if it lays in front of it. The mirror will not reflect the ball if it's far away. 

    In quantum world an analogy of such example is possible.
