Photography thread

mentioned the possibility of having a photography thread in another thread.

This can be a place to show your photos and discuss photography.

It doesn't have to be creative so anything from squirrels to ICM (intentional camera motion).

I will start with a squirrel when I can find him.

  • I had a bad day struggling with anxiety, so I drove down to Cawsand and just watched the world go by. Does anyone else find clouds mesmerising?

The ferry came in late afternoon and took all the unfortunates back to Devon, they can now only dream of a pasty and a correctly served cream tea.Smirk

  • Ha!  That used to be my part of the world before we shoved of to Spain.  I would often go down to Portwrinkle with my camera and just sit and watch the surfers.  Vanilla ice cream with a generous dollop of clotted cream is heaven in a cone, not good for the cholesterol, though!  Joy

  • I'm a Plymouth boy, but Mum and Dad moved to Saltash when I was 12.  After I left the Navy, I lived in Saltash and spent a lot of time exploring SE Cornwall.  You should visit Portwrinkle; it's small and very quiet in the off-season, with just half a dozen houses.  But it is perfect to sit quietly and watch the ocean, ships, and surfers.  There's a tiny harbour which can be exciting to visit during a southerly storm, not as well known as Kingsand/Cawsand, and so less visited, which I prefer.

If you are in the learning stage with your photography, Portwrinkle offers quite a few views to practice.  It's perfectly placed for sunset shots, and there are a few very old and rusty things around the harbour that make interesting photos.  It changes with the weather and time of day, so when you have the time, you can visit often and not be bored by it.
