Paint

I've got a load of redecorating to do  over the winter, I'm looking at Lakeland paints as they've no toxic chemicals in them and are recomended for people with sensitivities and chest problems.

Has anyone else used them or other similar products?

I've used mainstream paints that say they're very low VOC, but they still stink and give me a headache and a nasty taste in my mouth.

  • This is difficult, as decent paints do have a strong stench whilst applying them. However, for longevity and good coverage it is better to choose a decent paint, like Dulux Trade Paints. You could buy a respirator mask to do the work - the stink of chemicals goes off once the paint is dry.

  • Thats the thing Marianne I can still smell them for days after application, I could sleep in a respirator mask and as one of the rooms that needs doing is my bedroom, stinky paints aren't an option. I've never been a fan of dulux paints, even the trade versions,I find the pigment mix isn't as good as other brands and they lack depth. Mind you, I have extremely good colour vision and I can see the difference between dozens of shades of white.
