Quick little vent

Had quite a rubbish day, basically. I have failed my practical driving test 3 times and my theory runs out in just over a month. My instructor said get on and try to look for tests before it runs out, so I did. I paid £ 67 for one for next week. I let my instructor know and he’s already got a student doing a test on that day an hour later, so he can’t do it. He said try to change the date, so I tried, but there’s none available, so I tried to get a refund. Apparently I can’t do that either, so I wasted money I couldn’t afford to waste for a test I cannot attend, and now I’ll have to do my theory again, also.

  • I'm really sorry,  , that's very bad luck. But think of this - they need to be absolutely sure of a potential driver's safety before passing them as fit to drive - that's why the test is so difficult. Better that than an, 'easy' pass and get killed on roads which get more dangerous every day. Take a deep breath, put this behind you, then take a break whilst you save for the next. See this as a challenge not a seteback.

Meanwhile, I wonder if mindfulness or Stoic practices might help you with setbacks? I've tried both and they are good for people with autism.
