celebrating joyous forms of microcosm - microscope videos, doll houses, tiny worlds

I thought the community might enjoy these microcosms - videos, models and images of tiny worlds.  We usually focus on the large - but it's fascinating to look at the other end of the scale.

Do add your own favourites or things you've made/designed/built.

1. Winners from Nikon's video competition, 'Small Worlds in Motion.' This enthuses me about getting a laptop microscope.

2. A video of how to find tardigrades [microscopic worms]in your garden.

3. A Channel 4 competition, making tiny articles for doll houses, 

4. BBC's 'Marvellous Miniature Workshop' - model buildings

  • I love dollhouse and I watch these videos on Instagram. There are good ideas and beautiful creations. Many of them look so real that it's hard to believe it's a miniature. I have very little time for myself so obviously I have no time for such things. I made two dollhouse for my daughter,  but they are far not as rich with details as I'd like, but I had no more time. I made them 2 years ago, when my daughter had naps during a day. But im happy to see, thst she still likes them and plays with them.

  • I love dollhouse and I watch these videos on Instagram. There are good ideas and beautiful creations. Many of them look so real that it's hard to believe it's a miniature.
