How do you get to do that job....?

I was thinking with all our sensitivites with smells, hearing, colour vision and stuff, why we aren't more in demand for jobs where those things are assets?

I mean how do you get to become a perfumier, a wine taster, paint colour designer. These things just pop up on tv and I sort of take them for granted, but how do you get these jobs, are there colleges that teach them? Can you imagine being with your schools careers adviser and being asked what you want to do and saying you want to be a perfumier, if you even knew such a thing existed? I could just imagine the look that says 'you're not taking this seriously, so we'll put you down for shop work'.

I failed the 11+ so went to a Secondary Modern school which became Comprehensive.

They just expected us to leave with a few C grade CSEs and become mothers.

At a career session I said I wanted to be a spy.

The class laughed and the teacher was astonished but it was true.
