Hate and unconstitutional thinking taking over

I know, nobody wants to talk about politics and that‘s not what I‘m here to do.
There was a pretty defining vote in one of the Bundesländer of Germany and the results are… Well, today I am ashamed to be German.

I do not get why people vote for a party that is officially deemed "right-wing extremist“ and wants to destroy the pillars of democracy for personal profits and ideologies.
Sorry to dampen the mood, but as someone that needs the world to stay open minded, I worry. I cried this morning and I fear for the future. My sense of justice screams for me to get away while I am to start my six years of university soon. The future seems to be a Germany where I do not want to live and right now I honestly do not know what to do.

How do you deal with the world getting more hateful and narrow-minded? What helps you to see things in perspective (preferably a perspective that doesn‘t make me weep)?

  • On the news today Trump is offering 5000 dollars to all citizens if Republicans win mid term elections? Wondering if I heard that correctly. That doesn't sound like democracy.

  • Thus marks the death of democracy in the United States of America. I am legitimately mourning.

The primary reason (or possibly the only reason) die hard Republicans would ever vote against their party during the midterms would be the increasing costs of gasoline and tariffed goods. Now all Trump has to do is promise a cash prize and they will do whatever he wants. HE DOESN’T EVEN HAVE TO GIVE AWAY THE MONEY IN THE END. He will blame Democrats and socialists if anyone asks about it after the fact. All he has to do is promise it and all the idiots of this nation will flock to his platform.

There’s no point in trying anymore. [EDIT: Scratch that. There is always a point to struggle against tyranny. That’s just me being frustrated] He broke the system completely. Now everyone will associate the Republican party with free money (even if it never shows up). Not to mention there is a nearly 100% chance the votes will be rigged anyways. This is now a one-party fascist nation with no real opposition.
