Collecting coins

Anyone else collect coins and bank notes/bills

So far I've got 4 British old round pound coins 1 isle of man round pound  coin 1 old large 50p a variety of us cents Nicole's dimes and quaters including a South Carolina one and an Illinois one 

I've also got a 1 dollar bill 2 dollar bill and 5 dollar bill a Jamaican dollar a Spanish Euro and an Australian 10p

Then we move to pre decimal british money i have two 1 shillings a flourish half a crown a crown a farthing a ha'penny a old 1p a silver threepence and a later bronze threepence and a ten shilling note 

I also have 5p 10p 5p snd one pound in British armed forces special issue vouchers(they were used to stop sterling being distributed in coubtrys where troops whete stationed so theyed get some of their pay in these vouchers to use on base and the rest could saved or sent home in sterling) 

And I've ordered a hands of Europe 50p and an old large 5p as well as a Hong Kong dollar 

Next up I want some Geoffrey dollars(toy R us store credit vouchers that look like dollars but with their mascot on instead of a president but hey were printed on real money paper and even had the Amar security measures as they were made in the same place) 

Also. I believe the army vouchers may have security measures in some later pressings as rise two were made on real money paper

  • I’ve got part of my grandmothers coin collection, ( and I thought I was the only autistic person in my family) They are a Threepence or Thruppence set of coins, there is one for each year of issue. All are wrapped  separately in kitchen roll and kept in a biscuit tin, I also have my late fathers Ten Bob notes and various versions of Pound notes. I think there are some Commonwealth 50p coins and 1977 Jubilee coins as well. My wife has some of the Paddington 50p coins. I did have a Queen Victoria half and full sovereign but they went in a burglary.

    My favourite 50 is the ecc(eu) one with the hands 

    Is that all the bronze thrupences or silver or is it both? 

    I have both the silver is George and I think bronze is Elizabeth II

    My crown is a comeritive not nor al circulation but I believe it was was from.. When crowns were still monetized although fun fact they are still legal tender (worth either 25p for the old ones or £5 for the newer comeritive one based on face value) 

    Also despite what people think legal tender does not mean a shop has to accept it legal tender is the term for money that must be accepted for a formal legal debt(government debts usaly) a shop just Has to accept a form of payment (this could be 50ps only I'd they wanted to) 

    And money that has been demobetiaed(can't be spent in shops) are also not legal tender the accept seems to be comeritive coins
