Mental health.

I’m not sure if anyone else has had much problems with getting help for their mental health, my daughter has been struggling for a while and has been in a waiting list to see a psychiatrist for a few months now.
but in the last months she’s been waiting she’s been offered a mental health nurse within the community, but felt as if the two people she has seen havent been very helpful, she said to me they have said things about autism that felt very “weird” one of them said to her things such as “I had another person I seen with autism and they were having a meltdown in the waiting room and I was scared they were going to pull a knife on me, and that they wouldn’t have been able to phone anyone if it was a proper melt down” and that “everyone is trying to get a diagnosis with anything they can nowadays” which she did not find that person very helpful and was scared to speak to them about her autism.
she was also an inpatient in a psychiatric ward for a few weeks and had a lot of meltdowns during that done because of the noise and the staff not understanding, she got medication for having meltdowns even got medication after she was finished having a meltdown and was calm, the staff there were not any better, they cornered her in her room before the meltdown got to its worst point, dispite her asking them to leave her alone or to go away, and during the melt down she got told things from staff such at “your behaviour is discusting” and “you’re just enjoying the attention, aren’t you”

she has no trust left in any professional now and I’m unsure of what to do or how to help. She wanted to try meds but after her impatient stay she now refuses any, I think it’s because of the trauma of the psych ward and their methods of admission of meds.
