Super Mario Brothers

God, I don't think I can remember how many I've played, and yet, I don't really love the main series.
Mario Bros (arcade original) - Played this a few times and it's fun, aged decently well
Super Mario Bros. Played only the first one, didn't play the American Mario bros 2, didn't play the Japanese one. I played 3. I'd say 3 is the best.

Didn't care for the SNES one (Mario World?)

I loved the Gameboy one (Super Mario Land) and the credits theme is one of my favorite video game songs. Ending Theme - Super Mario Land didn't care for the Wario Land games though.

I don't like 64, I don't know why, I've really, really tried. I'd rather just play Sonic Adventure. Never played Sunshine. Didn't like Galaxy 1 or 2 either. I liked the 3D one on WII U (forgot it's name) but got bored of it. Played the original New Super Mario bros on DS and found it OK. Played one of the 3DS ones too and found that OK. 

Spinoffs. Never played The Luigi's mansion games or any of the sport ones. I LOVE the Mario Kart series however, and DS is my favorite. I love it so much. 8 is also super fun, used to play it with my nephew all the time.

I love Paper Mario 1. Yet sadly, I've never played Thousand Year Door. I also love SMRPG. I also loved Super Star Saga (yet never completed it for some strange reason). After Super Paper Mario (God I love that game so much) I kinda lost interest as they really dumbed down Paper Mario.

I have a copy of Bowser's Inside Story, cannot remember anything about it lol, but it sits on my shelf starring at me!

My relationship with Mario is love, hate, and lukewarm. I'd still say Super Paper Mario is one of the Wii's best games though. Even my fussy ex loved it when she played it years ago.

I always prefer the 2d Mario gameplay ots infinitly more replay value 

The American Super Mario 2 is way better yes it's a reskin of doki doki panic but it actually introduces several Mario characters for the first time such as birdie and shy guy 

The Japanese one just feels like an alternate smb1 

Mario games seem to always be best when played with other people be it turn based or simultaneously it's just way more fun
