I used to watch doctor who all the time. Now I mostly watch it when it first airs not that it's not good because it is but theyre just to much to rewatch plus the more I get used. To the revival the slower paced the clasics seem.
But I do know a lot about vhs, dvd, CD, cassettes and recordd
I feel like that with physical media you are more mindful of what you watch in a way
I also love crt tvs
And as much as I would love video games to still be physical most modern games are just plastic discs that require an update to play so. Unless a new system comes out without online physical games are done with.
I have lots of Doctor Who DVDs and vhs tapes that I enjoy watching, I also collect the Doctor Who blu ray collection box sets, I love the special features on the box sets. My favourite era of modern doctor who is the tenth doctor. Classic Doctor Who I also enjoy, particularly Jon pertwee and Tom baker.
I prefer physical media because of the ability to own and keep the tv show, film or music for years, also I love the tactile feeling of putting vhs in vcr, dvd and blu rays in a dvd/blu ray player and cds and cassettes in a cd /cassette player with radio, I also love my vinyl record player as well.
i also love crt tvs and I would love to own one again for playing ps2 and watching vhs. Do you own any crt tvs?
i am disappointed that Sony is stopping physical discs, but I totally relate to what you are saying about most modern games are just plastic discs that require an update to play. I miss the days of ps2 where the disc would go in and the game would play instantly, and games would save to memory card and more memory cards could be purchased if more storage was required due to full memory card, without wiping existing game saves. The most frustrating thing about ps5 and modern game consoles is the storage fills up so quickly I have to delete games, to get a new game installed
I don't have any crts a brvause I'm. Limited to space and also cost and upkeep but as silly as it sounds to some if I won the lottery I'd have a room with all my older consoles and a big crt
I used to have two crts one had a building in DVD player and obe had a VHS built in
Yes that's why I prefer ps2 also I think it's possible to do a disc only console in 2026 but we need to think outside the aaa gaming and make. It feel more like a console where as if it wasn't for. The controller having haptics ps5 would feel like a pc in games mode
