Anyone else getting bitten by insects?

It's unusual for me to get insect bites in UK, I only used to get them when I went abroad on holiday. It's probably due to such a long hot dry spell. It feels like I'm living in Spain or the Canary islands, rather than the south of England!

I've had to buy bite cream and I've ordered a plug in mosquito killer - hope it works!

  • I wonder if those bites are from insects that have travelled north from Europe mainland?

I’m in N. Ireland and while we don’t usually get midges here in the scale of Scotland, we have many horseflies that enjoy drinking my blood and mosquitos bite me. The mosquitos are prevalent after there has been rain, especially near rivers.

Mosquito repellent is very smelly stuff and I hate the feel of it on my skin. I wash it off at the first opportunity when danger is over.

I hope your purchases are efffective.
