What food do you dislike?

I'll start,

Chicken or turkey drumsticks

Liquorice

Marshmallows

Terry's Chocolate Orange

Turkish Delight

Falafel

Anything with caffeine in it

  • I could write a list but it would look like a Roman scroll. If it’s beige then I’m normally okay with it.

  • Coffee. That may have something to do with me and my next door neighbour making it in the garden when we were about 5, Cold water and a healthy dose of mud did not improve the flavour.

    Marmite

Aubergine. I'll eat it in a lasagne, or something, but it's just slimy

Avocado. I've really tried, but it's just bland

Linda McCartney sausages. It was that or Quorn when I first turned veggie but they were just greasy and bland

Blue cheese. My Dad gave me some when I was little. I think about trying it again now but that memory sticks with me. Cook it in a sauce and yum though.

  • Battered food

    Sour cream flavoured

Coffee itself or flavoured coffee foods (weirdly I like the smell of it out in the open air)

Eggs, use to like them but now i can't eat them health wise, ok if they are in cakes etc just i can't be eating them like fried/boiled etc

A lot of chocolate bars like Cadbury dairy milk, galaxy. Use to love but ill last year now don't like them, like some biscuit based ones though and ones like kitkat

    Green beans

    Courgettes

  • Most of them would probably shorten this reply Joy. Far too many for me to list.

I don't like many vegetables. I can't stand sauce or food being mixed together. I don't like coffee or tea or anything like that. I like pretty bland food I guess - nothing with a particularly strong flavour.

  • There are a few things I don't like:

    • Tea
    • Baked Beans
    • Any offal
    • Okra
    • Macaroni Cheese & Cauliflower Cheese (yuk!)
    • Goats' Cheese or any really strong blue cheese - I'm fine with mature Cheddar and Red Leicester though.

Sometimes it's a flavour combination that I don't like - Parmesan cheese (the real stuff, not that dust stuff that comes in a small pot and smells like sick!) is OK with some things (in a Caesar salad) but not with others (with any 'sweet' vegetable or fruit like tomatoes or tomato sauce). I also have some flavour combinations that I really like - bacon with marmalade is really nice, and Christmas cake with Wensleydale is really nice as well (I think both of those might be Yorkshire Things though!). Crispy, well-done streaky bacon is delicious with good chocolate as well!

  • Insects - those deep fried crickets in Thailand are literally the only thing I now won't eat.

Celery was a big challenge (used to make me gag as a kid) but I love it now.

  • Garlic especially the smell of it cooking.

  • I also can't eat a lot of things for digestive reasons.

  • Slabs of meat like steak or pork [I use minced meats or chicken breasts].

most sliced white bread except farmhouse

anything without seasoning [eg commercial sandwiches]

    battery or caged bird eggs

    ready meals

looking back at my shopping list, I'm surprised how conservative I am with food!

  • I dislike most food.

It would only be possible for me to say what I can eat.

Where food groups are concerned and liking cheese tops it.
