Good TV programmes to relax with

  1. Having thought I had watched all the comedy, mainly old stuff on I Player I found the second series of Austin which I am halfway through. Watching 'comfy' comedy or a good film that is not fast paced drama/action with a good ending is one of the few ways I find I can relax and chill out. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am thinking either on I player or TV.

  • And (spoiler alert for those who haven't seen the series yet) it makes a pretty big point about empathy.  Linda doesn't do the social fluff thing, and she makes glaring communication mistakes but practically she is absolutely dedicated and caring -  without any sniff of ego.  The character who struggles most with social cues turns out to be the one with the biggest "heart" and the most loyalty.

  • "useful as a trap door in a canoe" I like that one  , on the other hand he did get Sue the droid in the first place.  It is good news that the BBC has commissioned another series, looking back over my now (longish) life they really do have a good history of being pertinent while being "informing, educating and entertaining" in their comedy series.

  • I really enjoyed Ann Droid, Linda had no filters and answered questions in a similar way to me. Sue’s son was as useful as a trap door in a canoe, the beeb has commissioned a second series.
