The excitement of trying a new game!

I'm getting Five Nights at Freddy's Secret of the Mimic for Switch for my birthday, and I'm reminded of how exciting it is to try a new game for the first time! Whenever I pick up a game after just receiving it, I never put it down for the whole day lol!

Anyone else excited about whatever new game you may be about to start playing in the near future?

  • Yes, I know what you mean about having space for boards and the time to play. I'm really enjoying the building and painting side at the moment, even though most of the models I'm working on at the moment need a lot of filling and extra sculpting. It's part of the enjoyment for me! I've only recently picked it back up nearly 40 years after I last played (!!!) and I've still never played a game yet!

  • I had a preference for the taxis in GTA 3 the bug cars in GTA 1 and in GTA 4 I liked to taki long taxi rides

  • Sounds fun! I remember picking up big vehicles in GTA and having fun with them, even if they're a little slow

  • I have built and painted two spearheads for aos as well as two old world models I had a sub for aos but wasn't impressed with some of the builds so cancelled I'm more into the artistic side of Warhammer and minitures with all my other hobbies O have neither the time to play the game nor the space for boards and scenery

I guess thats why I got so into d&d you just need sheets and books to play and yes I do stick to the press written adventures I find it easier to be be creative this way but my son did make up an adventure that was fun

  • I've got Total War: Warhammer 40K on my Steam Wishlist, I haven't checked recently if there's a release date yet! There's also a pre-order of the new Necromunda box set being released on Saturday - that's a Warhammer 40K tabletop spin-off played with small gangs instead of full armies. I'm really tempted to get the box as I've never bought one before and it launches just after pay day!

  • Yes! I got very excited about my dinosaur jigsaw on the Meta Quest the other day. I am the same with books. I love starting new things and also finishing things in general. Even bottles of shower gel!

  • One of my Speical intrests is vechials yes I'm not super knowledge on trucks and I do tend to prefer busses and trains and cars that I've traveled in

Part of it is just the traffic patterns the routes and the scenary I'm a very visual person and I didn't realise until adulthood that a fascination with your surroundings could get visual Stimmung like even in the worstnof places I will al ays find one feature that's brilliant to me

I also like how these games can often feel like the ideal verison of these jobs.

Trucking without back breaking manual labour, checking bus tickets without threats of violence and driving a train without the many stress triggers the job can bring although as I get older and train simulators become more sofistocated I prefer my arcady bus Sims and games like. Truck Sims that whilst being on a set path just feel like a drive through a city or country

Even playing GTA I always used to find a nice side road or car park or alley way put on the chat radio and watch the virtual world do it's. Thing

  • Forgive me for being a little forward, but I take it your special interest is trucks and similar vehicles?

  • I'm looking forward to playing bus sim 27 on lauunch day I'm leas than pleased that they changed from. 21s USA and german maps to a Spanish map (I'm just not a fan of Spanish road layouts or the architecture) but as long as the bug from 21 that removed passenger dialog is gone it should be good and hopefilly they do a USA map or even a UK map even though this would require driving on the wrong side of the road due to the bus designs

Also looking forward to Euro truck simflying discparachute 2 and American truck sim  on ps5 I've played them on PC before but I prefer the jump in a bad play aspect of a console plus I could never get a control scheme that completely got rid of needed keyboard and mouse

  • I’m like this with books and games. When a book in a series I like comes out I will literally read it continuously until I finish it. I recently got Palworld and lost a couple of days playing it. I hope you enjoy your new game :)

  • I don't buy games but I love buying new tools and machinery. I'm enjoying my new patio hook [for getting out weeds from between slabls] and my garden shredder. The latter is lovely, powerful and noisy - I wear headphones so can't hear it but can feel the vibrations.

  • I got Yoshi and the Mysterious book for mine, though I only got to play it briefly as my daughter was really interested and then didn't put it down for at least a week!
