Clacton had Count Binface MP, instead of Nigel Farage?
With Farage's pantomime of a by election to try and avoid scrutiny by the Parliamentary Watchdog, thinking that "the people" should decide it will make it OK, but other parties seem to have seen through his game and are refusing to play by not fielding candidates, so it looks like the choice for voters will be Farage, Count Binface and a candidate from The Monster Raving Loony Party. I think this is a gamble for Farage, as the British public has form for making daft choices, like the whole, lets vote for a name for this new marine reseach vessel, with the Sir David Attenborough being the prefered choice in government, what did the public want, Boaty MacBoatface, far and away the winner in the vote. Can you imagine the look on Farage's face if he loses to a "joke" candidate?
I don't think Farage understand that an election isn't a popularity contest for individuals. I saw a swivel eyed Robert Jenrick being interviewed on the news last night and wondered if he's got his eye on the top job? WIll Reform end up ditching Farage? Maybe even standing against him in his own constituency? I think if Farage loses the by election then Reform will have to find a new leader or a winable seat for Farage before the next general election
