An Idea based on stories I love and a day dream I had today.

I’ve been developing a new fantasy mythos inspired by LitRPG stories like Magic 2.0, Everyone Loves Large Chests, Solo Leveling, and some themes from FFXIV. It’s not a copy of any of them — more like a fusion of the ideas I love, reshaped into something new.

In my world, the first god is born from a mortal’s overwhelming desire for the world to be more — more magical, more vast, more full of potential. This being ascends and chooses the name Azem, becoming the God of Adventure and Travel.

Azem creates the System — not a UI or game interface, but a divine mechanism that lets mortals grow, evolve, and transcend their limits. The System is a living force tied to Azem’s domain of movement, change, and potential.

Two other primal gods form naturally from the world’s own instincts:

  • Hydaelyn, Goddess of Light and Stasis — the force of preservation, order, and continuity

  • Zodiark, God of Darkness and Chaos — the force of transformation, entropy, and ambition

These three are the Primal Trinity, and each creates lesser gods aligned with their nature:

  • Hydaelyn creates Luna, Goddess of Magic

  • Zodiark creates Mortima, God of Death and Commerce

  • Azem creates forces tied to travel, discovery, and the System itself

The world is shaped by the tension between change, stasis, and chaos, with mortals caught in the middle — empowered by the System to rise beyond their origins.

I’d love feedback on the structure, themes, or ways to expand the pantheon further.

    Just pick one idea and write what comes to you about that. It might only be a few hundred words. Rrepeat when you think of something.

    I've writtern 15 books and the end story/characters are usually different to the way I thought they'd be when I began. Writing something to do with a book stimulates ideas of where to go next with the lot or character.

  • I'd like to contribute. Here is an idea of mine...

    Dagune: a being not belonging to the natural laws of the known universe. Their true potential is unknown to the Primals, subsequently they are left to their own devices. No one knows how old Dagune is, was, or will be. Many believe they are older than Hydaelyn and Zodiark.

    Dagune appears often in the dreams of mortals, highlighting things that are holding a person back. Dagune's physical form is unknown to all, because of the many different ways in which they can appear. Most commonly they are reported to either appear as a deer, a purple-ish essence, and an oak tree.

    Dagune has no parents, instead they spawned themselves. They can neither die, nor live forever.

    Mortals worshipping Dagune see them as a mysterious-god, bringing light, clarity and empathy.

    People claiming to have encountered Dagune have reported figuring out something which otherwise would have been ignored. Mostly leading to an improvement of one's well-being.

    Maybe you could find a writers course? Sometimes I've seen things at my local library, you could see if you have anything near you or online to get some guidance?

    If all that fails, maybe there's a book about how to write a story!

  • Anyway, your story reminds me of Dissidia Final Fantasy, not surprising since you used FFXIV as inspiration.

    Was The System based on the same thing from Solo Levelling, btw? I'm just wondering

  • That sounds really cool and full of fun potential. I thought it was funny that one of them is a god of death and commerce. It's a good way of doing something that would create story opportunities.

    To create more tension in the system, what about thinking how things might go wrong somehow, something for your gods to work against? It might be a person or some rip in the fabric of the system they have to be careful of? Something as a counterpoint to what they are trying to do? 

    I really love it anyway, you can tell you've given it a lot of thought!
