Collection and joy

This topic has been discussed many times here and its never too much. I have a collection of dolls, as I love them. They are my friends. They don't gossip, they are never mean, don't do any noise or chaos and I can talk to them in my head, hold in my hands and enjoy the texture of their hair, clothes etc. I bought myself two new little dolls, that I always carry in my bag. While filling out tests for my assessment i wrote that I hardly ever collect anything. I could not recall myself collecting any stones or post marks or old coins etc. And only after submission of the results I recalled having a big box full of dolls, that I take care of, they are carefully packed, wrapped to not let them get damaged when storing. I keep them away from anyone and only sometimes when I have my solitude, I unwrap them carefully and enjoy their company. I crave connection, but at the same time I'm exhausted of this crazy world. I'm still awaiting my assessment so I can clarify. Here are the little dolls. I bought these two today.

I'm happy that I have the little mermaid in two versions. There was some argument in the media over Disney swapping the race of the character, but I don't care, I like them both. These dolls give me a lot of joy and I can't wait to be alone with them again and build them a villa and of course take some photos of them there.

  • I mainly have books now, like my collection of books from natural history programmes, or fiction which is nicely lined up on the shelf. That and the Studio Ghibli dvd/blu ray collection. There is some missing from that I need to fill the gaps.

It used to have more collections when younger, and it's very satisfying to see them all lined up just to look at. I used to have dinosaurs I used to like to hold too because of their texture.

I almost thought of buying them again as I miss that collection. But it's expensive to get the old models. So I liked to look at the pictures of other people's collections they were selling and remember the feel of them instead.

  • OMG, YES! I love me some Ghibli movies! I've got Laputa Castle in the Sky and From Up On Poppy Hill on DVD!

  • I love those, the sound track to Up on Poppy Hill is wonderful. I've just had to go check, and the ones we are missing is Grave of the Fireflies (I've seen it, which is part of the reason I've not got it yet, but it's probably time to have my heart broken all over again). And Tales of Earth sea, which I've also seen.

I'd also like to get Red Turtle, though it's a collaboration, I also loved Belleville Rendezvous by Dudok de Wit. Might put it on my birthday list this year, I've been waiting 10 years to see it!

  • Grave of the Fireflies and Tales of Earthsea are pretty rare, as far as I remember.

Grave of the Fireflies is so sad, it makes me cry every time!
