Not looking forward to extreme heat

My big fear now is fire because just outside my flat I have woodland and a lot of tall vegetation which was growing very well until recently.  Now it's dried out and dying.  One spark and it could burn down.

Could you douse it as a precaution? Or cut a swathe as a firebreak? The worrying news is firemen getting exhausted and the tankers running out of water. Thankfully you also hear of farmers helping them.

This is the view outside my window.  Flames can jump considerable distance from trees onto other trees and buildings when the whole tree is on fire.  And there is a lot of dry vegetation all around. I live on an offical nature trail with plenty of walkers and hikers all day.

We usually have plenty of hikers, dog walkers, cat walkers, shoppers.  One dropped cigarette and it could go up.

Those trees look healthily green with plenty of sap. Unless the ground beyond is really yellowed and tinder dry, and people around you are really careless, I think you'll be ok. At least you have a very good view and can keep an eye on what's happening below. With luck, we might get a bit of rain in the next couple of weeks, enough to damp the surfaces down. It looks peaceful up there.
