Not looking forward to extreme heat

It is just about reaching as hot as I can bear, towards the upper 20s. If we get extreme heat for a few days I get through it by thinking that it will be over soon. At the moment next week is predicted to be around 30 all week and often the prediction gets higher as it gets closer.

I like to be outside at least some of each day, but I am not sure there will be much that is bearable.

I am hoping they have got it wrong and it reduces sooner than Monday week.

  • With the New Forest now burning Cry I dearly hope the PM bans portable BBQs which I read he is considering at today's Cobra meeting.

I have seen distressing footage of ponies running from the fire.

The poor animals being killed by these fires nationwide.

  • But the recent fire in the New Forest was caused by a van which caught fire on the A31. It burnt about 0.5% of the area.

A lot of fires in Europe and elsewhere have been caused by arsonists. One last year was caused by a BBQ in someone's garden, some are caused by cigarettes.

While banning disposable BBQs may or may not be a good idea, I am not sure it really makes much difference.

Portable ones are something else. I don't think they are talking about banning them.
