Not looking forward to extreme heat

It is just about reaching as hot as I can bear, towards the upper 20s. If we get extreme heat for a few days I get through it by thinking that it will be over soon. At the moment next week is predicted to be around 30 all week and often the prediction gets higher as it gets closer.

I like to be outside at least some of each day, but I am not sure there will be much that is bearable.

I am hoping they have got it wrong and it reduces sooner than Monday week.

  • Has been cloudy today, but that has gone and currently fluffy white clouds and blue sky. No rain. Was 31 or 32 yesterday, about 26 today.

It is supposed to finally cool down for a few days from tomorrow, low 20s, then 26 at the weekend again.

No rain expected this week though. Less than 1mm in July, we'll see what August brings, but I am starting to get a bit nervous.

Wheat was half the normal height, has been harvested. Going to get a very early harvest generally. I won't help with food prices come the winter.

Apparently England has now had 20 days with 32 degrees or more occuring somewhere, beating the record from 1995.

These things balance out. I wonder if it will be a cold winter and next summer will be a washout.
