Not looking forward to extreme heat

25-27 highs forecast for me for today and the next 7 days. I think it may be like this for another month. No sign of rain. Hasn't rained for a month. 

Was cooler on Sunday which was really nice, and was cold last night, had to close some of the windows.

Yes it really is relentless (here in the south of England, at least).

It reminds me of 1976 but I was young and thin then, which I am no longer, so it affects me more.

I hope we have a proper autumn.

It’s been consistently warm here in Sheffield. I noticed today that blackberries are ready for picking, I thought they were more of an autumn fruit?

I bought a cooling blanket as recommended by Mod Suzanne. It really works. If you throw it off or turn it over when it starts to absorb your body heat, it soon gets cool again. Amazing really, I didn't think it would work but it does.

Have you tried a duvet cover with no duvet in it? 

We haven't had to do that being northly, but when we used to live in the Midlands there were some summers we did that.

I've noticed blackberries are ripening too, not enough yet to be worth picking and making jam, but we've had a bumper crop of raspberries they're huge too, we're still on the summer ones, I think we'll have about a month before the autumn ones are ready.

I wish the nights would get cooler, I'm to hot with a blanket and to cold without one.

Oh yes how could I forget that line

Yes they should be ready in the autumn.

My favourite season if it remains as it should.
