Not looking forward to extreme heat

It is just about reaching as hot as I can bear, towards the upper 20s. If we get extreme heat for a few days I get through it by thinking that it will be over soon. At the moment next week is predicted to be around 30 all week and often the prediction gets higher as it gets closer.

I like to be outside at least some of each day, but I am not sure there will be much that is bearable.

I am hoping they have got it wrong and it reduces sooner than Monday week.

  • I think we're going to be avoiding it or the worst of it here, theres a 5-6 degree difference in temperature between here and Bangor, we have a nice cooling breeze

  • It is tiring though getting up earlier than normal.

Yes. The heat got me up today at 530.

Fingers crossed for a cooler week next week.

I am concerned that temperatures once considered heatwave level (28 here) are becoming the norm.

  • I consider 22 cool because it is colder than indoors so having the windows open let's the heat out.

I had it close to 30 at 11pm one year.

I get up at 5 am and open the windows and back door and the house works like a chimney, sucking in cold air downstairs and letting it out upstairs. It will be around 17 most days at 5am I think. It then gets sealed up at 8am with the curtains pulled to keep it as cool as possible during the day. I want to keep one room under 25.
