Not looking forward to extreme heat

It is just about reaching as hot as I can bear, towards the upper 20s. If we get extreme heat for a few days I get through it by thinking that it will be over soon. At the moment next week is predicted to be around 30 all week and often the prediction gets higher as it gets closer.

I like to be outside at least some of each day, but I am not sure there will be much that is bearable.

I am hoping they have got it wrong and it reduces sooner than Monday week.

  • Two close family of my two close friends passed away during the heatwave before this one.

I have known them for many years.

One was in her 90s but one in his 60s with no known health conditions

Because these things take a while the cause of death isn't confirmed yet but with regard to the latter the police said the heat may have been the cause.

I read that during the same June week there were over 2000 excess deaths in France alone.

Do keep hydrated, out of the sun and have your head covered if you need to be in it.

However be very careful indoors too.

  • I’m very sorry about that B.

I was just wondering if you were alright as I hadn’t noticed any posts from you these last few days. I hope you are OK?

Thank you for the reminder about keeping well. My bedroom upstairs has begun heating up again although downstairs is still a perfect temperature. I don’t think the outside temperature will rise above the low 20s in my area.

  • Thank you.

It has taken the wind out of my sails.

    Thankyou for asking.

The chap who passed away I have known for half a century.

Also his being a contemporary makes you stop and think.

I am glad to hear that.

I can understand that and I feel for you. I wish I could say something to make it betterBouquet

I haven’t experienced two people of my age dying within such a short period of time but my cousin, who was only a few years older than me, died last year and it made me stop and think too, so I understand a bit of what you are experiencing, although we can never compare suffering.

    Life is a mystery.
