Not looking forward to extreme heat

It is just about reaching as hot as I can bear, towards the upper 20s. If we get extreme heat for a few days I get through it by thinking that it will be over soon. At the moment next week is predicted to be around 30 all week and often the prediction gets higher as it gets closer.

I like to be outside at least some of each day, but I am not sure there will be much that is bearable. 

I am hoping they have got it wrong and it reduces sooner than Monday week.

  • Our local hospital has declared a critical incident due to their cooling systems breaking down in the heat.

    It is affecting many areas of the hospital including equipment.

    That’s bad. I wonder if the system was taxed too much my the hot weather? 

    I hope you get reprieve from the heat soon B. 

    I had a more successful night last night sleeping in my upstairs bedroom. The wet sheet, a spray bottle of water to ‘recharge’ the sheet, and the fan helped. Downstairs is manageable.

    I find it difficult to go to sleep without some sort of covering over my body. I can settle with the 4.5 tog summer duvet pushed to the bottoms of the bed and over just my feet.
