Not looking forward to extreme heat

It is just about reaching as hot as I can bear, towards the upper 20s. If we get extreme heat for a few days I get through it by thinking that it will be over soon. At the moment next week is predicted to be around 30 all week and often the prediction gets higher as it gets closer.

I like to be outside at least some of each day, but I am not sure there will be much that is bearable.

I am hoping they have got it wrong and it reduces sooner than Monday week.

  • BBC offer advice for keeping your home cool, which really works. Basically, cool the interior at night by opening all the windows and using a fan - so the bricks cool down. Then, leave the windows and curtains during the heat - open windows the opposite side but only if the air outside is cooler; otherwise not. Wear cotton clothing and use cotton bedding.   also gave an excellent idea in another thread about using a dog cooling mat underneath your sheets. Find distracting things to do indoors so you don't get preoccupied with the discomfort. This is going to happen more and more, so we need to use our autistic skills to share ideas to help ourselves.
