Not looking forward to extreme heat

It is just about reaching as hot as I can bear, towards the upper 20s. If we get extreme heat for a few days I get through it by thinking that it will be over soon. At the moment next week is predicted to be around 30 all week and often the prediction gets higher as it gets closer.

I like to be outside at least some of each day, but I am not sure there will be much that is bearable.

I am hoping they have got it wrong and it reduces sooner than Monday week.

  • I think we will escape it and our maximum should a more bearable 23.C, there are some advantages to jutting out into the Irish Sea.

Get an order in for a large or extra large cooling dog mat, or get one from Home Bargains if they still have them. These gel filled mats are great, they're like those cooling pads you get from physios or osteopaths for joint injuries. I slip mine under my bottom sheet when its really hot, to hot to sleep and its great, they take ages to warm up and cool back down again really quickly. They're a really cheap way to stay cooler and at least be able to get some sleep.
