I felt so very strange

I’ve experienced that too and it gave me a strange feeling too, as if I wasn’t where I should be. 

I’ve noticed that people seem to be talking to family members, or neighbours, or friends, and are asking questions or receiving instructions to do with the shopping. I think it’s more noticeable recently because supermarkets are more frequently out of stock of usual items, so a telephone conversation is required to buy an alternative item.

I've noticed this too, also people comparing prices with each other from different supermarkets. Market Intelligence!

Love the ‘market intelligence’!

I was shopping this afternoon and several people were talking on speaker phone in the supermarket. The ‘background’ music was louder than usual. I was so glad to get home.

I don't think they'd take any notice of me, they're not really interested in customers only their money and as theres not a lot of options round here they probably feel as though they can do what they like.

You're lucky Marianne, ours almost laughed at me, told me that customers like it and theres a time for people like me, 8am on a saturday morning, which is before they've had any deliveries, so I'd have to go back to find what I wanted during a noisy time. 

Home Bargains staff have no control over what music's played or how loud, it starts when the lights come on and the doors open and stops when the store closes, they hate it.
