bedroom... practical but cosy

how does one make their bedroom practical but cosy?

As I'm living with my parents my bedroom is where I keep all of my stuff etc. although it's practical it sometimes doesn't feel cosy, then sometimes it feels cosy but not practical

I don't want to spend money if possible - at least not a lot if I have to, to make it cosy and practical

my bedroom should be somewhere I can go to do things I enjoy and relax, but it should feel cosy

I'm not sure if my colour of my bedroom is right (at the moment light purple pinkie colour)

Any advice and tips and suggestions appreciated

Just need a practical cosy bedroom

  • Buy lengths of sheer [eg light organza] fabric then use it to drape mirrors, bed [style it as a 'four poster' using 2" x 1" softwood], windows etc. There are fabulous inexpensive fabrics, some with sequins and mirrors. When your windows are open and a breeze, it gives a lovely film-set vibe. Home Bargains and pound shops have small accessories like artificial greenery and flowers, swags that you can add to, ie cheap fairy lights, coloured feathers, shells. You could get cheap picture frames to put samples of your art, photos. favourite poems, prints - they are easy to change as you feel like it or as seasons change. Also, large cushions - buy pads then cover with cheap fabric, changing them seasonally. HOpe this helps.
