Difficult day
AM.
Delivered one child to college, followed by another dyspraxic child to casualty. Series of wrong images x-rayed due to trainee miss-reading x-ray form.
4 x-rays later, trainee x-ray technician gets nervous due to the number of x-rays already performed and abandons his task. Child leaves A&N Dept with x-rays of lower limb, rather than the area identified by triage, with numbness and tingling.
Drugs admin and tubi-grip ensues for pain, all at parents expense.
Car breaks down on the way to pick up first child dropped off, only to be remedied by mechanically minded mum. First child however is in meltdown mode by the time he's picked up. Engine, petrol soaked, and extinguisher at the ready.
Almost all angst is distracted by which sauce to dip chips in, whilst engine cools down and petrol evaporates, during 1st childs eppie.
PM.
Arrive home to find the; rarely left alone, third child has left the gas hob on full, back door open, fridge fully open, (with cat inside) and the postman unanswered, with a red card in the box, so we have to journey to the main post office 8 miles return journey away, min of 6 hours later, to collect said item.
1st child has recently taken on his own finance, so the balance of the afternoon is taken up with a crash budget course (rehearsed for a whole year) that takes hours to complete along with a lesson on how to charge ones mobile phone. (Still not mastered.) Followed by another panic attack, as said child realizes the enormity of what they've taken on.
Eldest child skype's; (from another continent!), with money issues that would take a genius in finance to solve, meanwhile youngest child demands pain-killing drugs that would fell a horse.
Youngest son begs for PE exemption letter, but is still foxed by how he's going to make it from class to class tomorrow for his favourite lesson, IT. (Theirs a surprise!)
Absent-minded, seldom left alone child, can't find his phone or his keys and realises he's wearing another childs clothes so has to return them. (Don't ask!)
Mummy reaches for the wine bottle just as hubby walks through the door with a headache, a parking ticket and a days worth of woe!!!!!!
and them promptly walks out with, seldom left alone child, to deliver said clothes back to rightful owner.
Mummy endeavours to deliver sane advice to parents on ASD forum, only to realise that her own health is deteriorating and she needs some TLC.
Rarely left alone child, catches the tall end of the conversation with hubby and realises Mummy is not well, but announces he doesn't want to know…
Just an average day really…God I love my life…:)

Realistic or not, I wish you a calmer one today!
