Gundam models and other plastic model kits

Does anyone else have experience with building plastic models like Gundam or Warhammer? I've got quite a big collection of Gundam kits (mostly HG and SD), I always find them to be really relaxing and rewarding to build. Here's my latest build, the HGUC Crossbone Gundam X1, I really love it so far.

In the same pic, there's also a couple of my other favourites including the HGUC Gundam NT1, HGUC Gundam Ez8, SD and MG Shining Gundam and MG Master Gundam

  • Those are very well put together! I'm still getting through my first box of Warhammer Necromunda miniatures. I've painted 5, now on number 6, and got a second box just arrived a couple of days ago! Is there a game that goes with the Gundam models?

  • There isn't an official game for the regular graded models like HG, MG, RG or PG, those are mostly for display only. But recently Bandai came out with a series of models for a table top game called Gundam Assemble, which are very much in the spirit of Warhammer. I've still yet to pick any of those up, they're pretty expensive.

In the meantime, there's a few unofficial tabletop games made by the fan community for the display models including Mobile Suit Skirmish, and Bandai are also experimenting with technology to scan the models to use in virtual combat experiences similar to some of the anime

  • Ah OK! I used to play BattleTech and MechWarrior back in the distant mists of time, I'm sure they were influenced by Japanese mecha sci-fi.
