It's beginning summer so I thought I'd start a thread where we could write what we do or have done previously over summer
I'll start by saying the past two years plus this year I'm going on holiday with parents to the seaside for a couple of days

But we have been away for a week in Anglesey which was very enjoyable, I especially enjoyed Parys Mountain, it is the remains of copper mines and processing going back to the bronze age. It was incredibly interesting given my degree in geology. I was also blown away by the Oriel Mon art gallery, outstanding quality work superbly displayed with a wonderful shop and cafe. Another special for me was traversing the Britannia Bridge both ways by car and train.

We are in the final stages of selling my house. There have been problems created in the last few weeks by the buyer’s solicitor, however this morning we have apparently satisfied her and her solicitor so fingers crossed exchange of contracts will be Tuesday after the bank holiday,
It has taken a huge toll on me mentally, I was having a meltdown only this morning in discussions with my estate agent, but fortunately they negotiated with the buyer and things ok for exchange on Tuesday and completion on June 1st. Numerous times in the process I contemplated suicide again, always spinning out of a trauma induced meltdown. Im ok though now.
We went to the Coffee House and the charity shops in Skem’ to celebrate. Coming home the neighbours on all sides were making lots of noise, barbi smoke and kid next door was playing football on their hankey of land crashing his ball repeatedly into our fence. But I coped much better than usual, H asked him politely to stop and to consider others, he looked embarrassed and things calmed down.
This evening Im playing my cd charity shops haul Summer so far has been extremely difficult but Im optimistic going forward

That sounds good. I saw a queue of cars leaving the country on the news and was so glad I wasn't in a car in this heat.
I hate vacations
Me too! I'd much rather stay at home, buy nice eatables & drinkables and enjoy my garden and DVD's etc. I hate driving and travelling. I would much rather see the world through Ben Fogle, Michael Palin, Simon Reeve, Louis Thereaux, Hannah Fry, Alexander Armstrong, David Attenborough et al. I will watch and learn, sitting on my comfortable sofa, coffee table full of snacks and drinks. Pertect happiness .
The place we've gone to for the party couple of years is a small b&b think only 9-10 rooms
It's good because the staff know us and make sure I have the same room each time (plus we've been lucky to have the spot for our meals the same each time!)
I don't think I'd cope with a big hotel or anything now but I don't mind it's lovely where we go
my need for nothingness,
️
I rarely go on vacation. Historically it’s because I just don’t have the hours to take off from work (bc I use all my sick/personal time on when my kids are sick), but I finally have a job that gives me enough personal time that I could theoretically go on vacation. I don’t want to though, lol. I hate vacations unless I’m given a ton of time to do nothing.
Thankfully my wife is aware of my need for nothingness, so she usually plans in ample “hotel time” into our vacation schedules. Still, not looking forward to potentially doing that this summer.
