World Cup

With the World Cup due to be starting soon, anyone have any predictions for the winners? 

As a Northern Ireland native, watching us lose to Italy in the playoffs was very painful. I've never seen us play in a World Cup (We've only ever qualified in 1958, 1982 and 1986), but we have a fantastic young team and I think we'll make it again soon! 

I honestly think England have a great chance of winning it, the England squad is stacked with talent, and in Tuchel they have a manager that knows how to win things on the big stage. 

I'm also married to an English woman, and we are now living in England, so I suspect I've no choice but to support England! 

I also think France have a great chance to win it again, they have an extremely talented squad, but France can also sometimes just implode for no reason. And, as always, never rule out the Germans....

  • I predict it will take up all the schedules and mess up normal programing, anything I set to record will be half football and I'll miss the program I actually want to watch.

    I get really fed up and angry at the way that sport is allowed to dominate tv schedules, not all of us like sport of any sort and don't want to watch it. Not all of us can get streaming services or afford them or want to watch all the repeats of programes we probably didn't like the first time around on the freeiew channels. 

    I don't like paying my licence fee to have sport inflicted on me, I want better drama's, wildlife programs stuff like that, not already over paid people playing with balls.

    All these international sporting events are frighteningly tribal, it's horrible when you get called traitorous by some numpty because you don't give a flying F***.

    So there you are thats my piece said!
