I've applied for a benefit and have been told to get a fit note from my doctor's (I understand why and think I can get one)

My question really is 

Has anyone else had to do this and what things should I say to my GP other than I can't work due to mental health and burnout

  • I've been signed off many times for stress P but didn't sign on for benefit - I just (eventually) found another job, so I don't know if the procedure differs.

    I was extremely upset in the GP each time so they didn't need me to say much!
