Is anybody there ?

Is this a real discussion forum ? No matter what I write, I never get any reply. I think I'm going to have to leave here and look for somewhere else. I would like to talk but I don't seem to be able to do that on here. Boring !!!  But just in case there is anyone out there-  Bye Bye !!!

  • Hi Aspiecharles, If I could venture to offer some advice, in the hope of perhaps easing your feelings, though by way of criticism - which I hope I can put over helpfully.

I've noticed two things in your postings - they are very autobiographical and sometimes involve very long paragraphs. If you could find a way to modify these aspects I think it might help.

When you contribute to a discussion or initiate one, it is often a chapter of your life story. What I mean by that is there is no clear outcome or question for someone to respond to, and when you contribute to a thread sometimes you aren't continuing the previous discussion, so existing discussants leapfrog your bit to carry on the theme.

That of course is a very autism/aspergers characteristic, so not unusual, just in starting or contributing to topics try to give people something to follow on with.

With long paragraphs, try to break the paragraphs into smaller chunks. Sometimes you are writing about quite complex events in your life, and in one very large paragraph it is hard for people to follow what you are saying.

You might feel I've no right to offer this advice, but it was done with the best intentions.
