Best place to live in the uk ?

Looking for advice! We are looking to move house - and are doing research into where to move to. So thought I’d ask on here: where do you think is the most lively place to live in the uk? Most beautiful, most friendly, best quality of life etc etc? We don’t want to live in the middle of a big city, but apart from that have an open mind. We love nature so access to nature is a big priority. Would love to hear people’s views on this! Thanks!

  • North Wales? Lots of nice places around if you avoid the tourist traps of Llanberis and the Llyn Peninsula, although a bit further down the coast in Aberystwyth might suit you all, the town is lovely, thriving lots of stuff going on, trains to Birmingham, lots of nice shops and restaurants.

    Thank you - I’ll look into that. We’ve thought about Wales but don’t know the area at all - so didnt have any idea which areas to look at. I’ll have another look - and check out the areas you mention. Thank you :)

    Maybe come up here for a few days and have a look around, Bangor is quite lively and has quite a bit going on because it's a university city, but the hight st is pretty much dead and you have to go to Llandudno for shops, but there is a good rail service that runs between Holyhead and Chester that goes through Bangor, it stops at lots of places along the North Wales coast. Of course there's Anglesey itself where theres some stuff going on and lots of walks, wildlife and some stuff for younger people. Just don't go to Llanar y meth, which is in the middle fo the island, but is where pebbledash goes to die.
